This past month I was in Hong Kong. My last day was the 4th of jun, 30 years ago, students marched in the streets of Beijing for democracy, freedom of speech and freedom of press. The protest was severely repressed by the Chinese military and hundreds of students died.
Today you cannot find any trace of the Tiananmen square massacre in china’s history and its commemoration is forbidden. Hong Kong and Macau are the only places in China where it is possible. I went to the ceremony and asked people why they are here and why is it important to commemorate it in Hong Kong.
